FAQ.
What ages are Acrotrix classes for?
We offer classes for children aged 18 months to 16 years.
Classes are grouped by age and ability to ensure children learn safely, build confidence and progress at the right pace.
TinyTRIX: 1.5-3 years OR 3-4 years
MiniTRIX: 4-7 years
TRIX: 8-16 years
Does my child need gymnastics, dance or acro experience?
Not at all.
Many children join with no previous experience. Whether your child is a complete beginner or already attends gymnastics, dance or acro classes, our coaches adapt progressions to suit their current level.
For TRIX classes we do suggest that students can already:
-
Kick towards handstand
-
Cartwheel
Not there yet? Don't worry, there are more options available to help your child build those foundations. You can also explore our online training and private lessons to help prepare for a TRIX class.
What makes Acrotrix different from gymnastics and dance classes?
Many of our members attend Acrotrix alongside gymnastics, dance, cheerleading or acro dance classes.
Our longer class format allows children to spend more time developing flexibility, strength, balance and acrobatic skills such as walkovers, aerials, back handsprings and more.
For many children, Acrotrix becomes one of the fastest ways to accelerate their acro progress while complementing their existing activities and helping them reach their goals. For children who don't already attend gymnastics or dance, Acrotrix is also a fantastic standalone activity that develops confidence, fitness and coordination whilst having fun!
My child is little nervous about starting. Will Acrotrix be suitable?
Absolutely!
Many children may feel a little nervous trying something new.
Our coaches are experienced in helping children settle in at their own pace, build confidence and make friends in a supportive environment.
Parents are welcome to stay for at least the first 10 minutes of class to help children settle, and most children quickly become comfortable once they start participating. We focus on encouragement, achievable progress and celebrating every success, helping children grow in confidence both inside and outside the gym.
Are your coaches qualified?
Yes.
All Acrotrix classes are led by qualified coaches who have completed specialist Acrotrix training and certification.
Acrotrix provides acrobatic coaching qualifications to coaches around the world, and our coaching team are trained in safe skill progressions, spotting techniques and child development.
All lead coaches hold safeguarding & first aid training and enhanced DBS checks, while every member of our coaching team receives ongoing in-house training and development. Assistant coaches always work under the supervision of a qualified lead coach, ensuring every class maintains the highest standards of safety, coaching and support.
How does the trial work?
Your child can attend a trial before deciding whether Acrotrix is right for them.
Trial memberships include 2 classes for just £20.
There is no commitment after your trial and no obligation to join.
If your child loves it, you'll have the option to join ongoing weekly classes.
Love it straight away? Sign up with your coach at your second session and receive a discount on your first membership payment.
Is there a contract or minimum term?
No.
There is no minimum membership term.
If you decide to join after your trial, memberships simply require 30 days' notice to cancel.
How often do children attend?
Some members attend once per week.
Children wanting to progress faster can attend multiple weekly classes, with a 10% discount available on additional weekly sessions.
What happens if my child misses a class?
Members can book up to two make-up classes per month, subject to availability at their venue.
This helps ensure children can continue progressing even if they occasionally miss their normal session.
Can siblings attend?
Yes! Many families attend Acrotrix together. A 10% sibling discount is available for the second and any additional child's membership.
Can parents watch the classes?
Parents are always welcome to stay for at least the first 10 minutes of class so children can settle in comfortably.
Some venues also have designated viewing areas where parents can watch throughout the session, although viewing arrangements vary by location.
How long are the classes?
TinyTRIX: 45 minutes
MiniTRIX: 90 minutes
TRIX: 120 minutes
How many children are in each class?
Most classes have a maximum of 25 children and are coached by at least two qualified coaches.
This allows us to maintain a positive learning environment while ensuring children receive individual feedback, support and encouragement throughout the session.
What should my child wear?
Comfortable sportswear that allows free movement is perfect. Class uniform (Acrotrix T-shirt) will be sent to you in the post after your purchase a full membership.
Children should attend with bare feet and long hair tied back.
Journals will be provided after you purchase full membership and need to be brought to every session.
Do you accommodate children with learning difficulties or additional needs?
Yes, wherever possible.
Every child is different, so we encourage parents to tell us about any additional needs, medical conditions or learning difficulties before attending.
Our coaches will always do their best to support your child and help them have a positive experience in class. In some cases, we may recommend a trial or chat with our team first so we can ensure the class is the right fit and discuss any support your child may need.
Our priority is to create a safe, enjoyable and successful experience for every child.
